BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The University of Scranton wrestling team fell into an early hole and could not rebound in a 26-12 loss at 23rd-ranked College at Brockport in the Royals' final regular season event of the 2016-17 season.
Brockport (6-1) won the first four matches to race out to a 20-0 lead, and Scranton (15-4) could not rally despite winning four of the final six matches.
Senior Ian Evans (Laurys Station, Pa./Parkland) got the Royals on the board with a 3-0 decision at 157 pounds. It was his 29th victory of the season and the 119th of his career, which is second in Royals' history. He needs six victories to tie the school's all-time record, held by Darren Buseman (1999-03).
