Women's Golf Falls To Marywood In Match Play

Results

MOUNT COBB, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's golf team could not get revenge for its only loss in its inaugural season, falling to Marywood, 4-0, in match play at Scranton Municipal Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.

The Royals (6-2) came into the match hoping to knock off the Pacers after suffering a 361-381 defeat in stroke play during the fall season. But Marywood took all four matches with none of them reaching the 17th tee.

Junior Julie Cranney (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) lost 3-and-2 at the third spot in the lineup, the only Royal to reach the 16th hole. Freshman Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) dropped a 4-and-3 decision at the second spot, and junior Katie Allen (New Milford, Conn./Immaculate High School) at the first spot and freshman Kristen Davis (South Abington Township, Pa./Scranton Prep) at the fourth spot were both 6-and-5 losers.

The Royals will be back in action on Thursday, April 13, when they travel to Shavertown, Pa. to take on Wilkes and Misericordia at Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Club at 11:30 a.m.
