MOUNT COBB, Pa. – Three players shot in the 80s to help The University of Scranton women's golf team defeat Misericordia, 349-389, on Sunday at Scranton Municipal Golf Course, giving the Royals a perfect 8-0 record.

Junior Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) earned medalist honors with a 12-over-par 84 on the 5,928-yard layout. She was one stroke off her career low of 83 from earlier this season.

Freshman Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) was one shot behind Stein with an 85, a career low for her. And fellow freshman Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) carded an 87, a career low by seven shots.

Senior Maggie McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) rounded out the team's top four scores with a 93.

The eight victories in the season are tied for the most in the program's three-year history, matching their total output from the team's first season in 2016-17. The women's golf team will resume its 2018-19 schedule in the spring needing one victory to surpass that mark.
