Women's Golf Uses Balanced Effort To Down Marywood, Arcadia

MOOSIC, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's golf team posted four scores in the 80s to knock off both Marywood and Arcadia in a tri-match at Glenmaura National Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

The Royals (7-0) defeated Marywood, 342-352, and Arcadia, 342-366, to remain undefeated in dual and tri-matches this fall. Scranton's top four players all set career lows with their play on Tuesday.

Junior Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) led the Royals with a 12-over-par 83 on the par-71, 6,274-yard layout. Senior Maura McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) finished with an 85 while her sister, senior Maggie McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) and freshman Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./Scranton Prep) both shot 87.

The women's golf team will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 6, when the Royals compete in the Keystone Invitational at 1 p.m. at Stonehedge Golf Course in Factoryville, Pa.
