SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's golf team posted a two-day total of 833 to finish fourth at the inaugural Landmark Conference women's golf championships on Sunday at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.
Marywood captured the title by finishing with a total of 787. The Pacers entered the day trailing Drew by 10, but surged past the Rangers, who finished at 798. Goucher (816) was third, followed by Scranton, Elizabethown (1022) and Juniata, which had two players withdraw on Sunday, which left the Eagles without a team score.
The Royals were led on Sunday by sophomore Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge), who shot 102. Seniors Julie Cranney (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) and Katie Allen (New Milford, Conn./Immaculate H.S.) both had 108, and junior Maggie McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) finished with 111 to round out the team's top four scores.
Stein finished the two-day event with a two-round total of 203 to finish tied for ninth. Cranney was 11th with 205 and Allen tied for 12th at 210.
The Landmark Conference championships bring an end to the season for the Royals.
