Women's Golf in Third After Opening Round of Landmark Conference Fall Preview

QUEENSTOWN, Md. - Playing on a tough layout at Queenstown Harbour Golf Links, The University of Scranton women's golf team finds themselves in third place overall after the opening day of the Landmark Conference Fall Preview hosted by Goucher.

Overall, Drew leads the way as a team after the first day of competition, as the Rangers posted a combined score of 368 on the afternoon. Catholic is in second with a 376, while Scranton is in third after carding a team score of 401 on Saturday. Goucher rounded out the top four with a 418.

Individually, freshman Katie Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Royals on the afternoon, posting a 97 to put herself in a tie for 11th on the individual leaderboard. Sophomore Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) carded a 99 on the day to put herself 14th overall, while sophomore Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) is in a tie for 15th after posting a 101 on Saturday.

Rounding out the line-up for Scranton was senior Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge), who is 18th overall after posting a 104, and sophomore Abigail Allen (New Milford, Conn./Immaculate H.S.) in 26th overall entering Sunday's final round after an opening-round 116.

The University of Scranton women's golf team finishes up play at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview on Sunday at Queenstown Harbor Golf Links. Tee-off is set for 11 a.m.
