Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Landmark Conference Championships

BRANCHBURG, N.J. – The University of Scranton women's golf team shot a 389 on Sunday at the Fox Hollow Golf Club to finish sixth at the Landmark Conference Championships with a two-day score of 794.    The Royals improved upon Saturday's first round score by 16 strokes in their final round of the 2018-19 season.

Drew claimed the Landmark Conference championship with a two-day score of 713, while Catholic was the runner-up after totaling 754 over the weekend.

Freshman Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) led Scranton on Sunday with a 92, improving her Saturday score by nine strokes, to finish in a tie for 12th place in the conference championship competition.

Senior Maggie McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) bested her opening round by five strokes on Sunday, carding a 96 to tie for 16th in the field with a two-day total of 197 strokes.

Senior Maura McDonough (Dunmore, Pa./Holy Cross) tied for 20th in the tournament with a two-day score of 202 after completing Sunday's final round in 105 strokes.

Junior Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) topped her opening round by nine strokes on Sunday, firing a 97 to finish with a two-day total of 203, good for 22nd place overall.

Freshman Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) completed the course in 104 strokes on Sunday, two better than her opening round, to total a 210 for the weekend and a 25th place finish.

Drew's Lucy Lamb with the individual medalist, topping the 40-golfer field with a two-day score of 152. Lamb carded a two-over 73 on the par 71 course on Sunday to close out the weekend to finish 25 strokes ahead over a pair of golfers from Catholic, Tess Murphy and Mary Colella, who tied for second with weekend scores of 177.

In the team competition, Goucher was third with a 757, Susquehanna took fourth place with a 768, and Marywood came in fifth, just four strokes ahead of Scranton, with a two-day score of 790.
