JEFFERSON TWP. -- Freshman Katie Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) fired the lowest round in the history of The University of Scranton women's golf program with a 78, as the Royals posted their lowest score as a team in program history (333) at Scranton Municipal Golf Club to easily get past Wilkes (452) in a dual match Saturday.

The 333 for the Royals on the afternoon smashed the previous program record in an event, which was 342 set last season at Glenmaura against Marywood.

Pagano's 78 (+6), meanwhile, was the lowest round by a Royal in the history of the program by five shots, besting the previous low of 83 set by senior Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and sophomore Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) in tournaments last season.

Elsewhere, on the day, Stein finished with a solid round of 83, while freshman Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) carded an 85. Rounding out the top scorers for Scranton as Nemitz, who finished off a solid day for the Royals line-up with an 87.

The University of Scranton women's golf team returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 8, as they travel to Morristown, N.J. for the Drew Invitational. Tee-off is set for 11 a.m.
