JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP - Senior Brianna Stein (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) was the medalist on the day after firing an 83, as The University of Scranton women's golf team captured a dual match win over Misericordia, 351-374, on Saturday at Scranton Municipal Golf Course.
Finishing with an 83, Stein matched her career-low on the afternoon at the par-72 layout, matching an 83 she shot at Glenmaura National Golf Club last year.
Elsewhere, freshman Katie Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) was impressive in her first career event, carding an 87, while sophomore Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) finished right behind Pagano with an 88. Rounding out the scores for Scranton were sophomore Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East), who finished with a 93, and sophomore Abigail Allen (New Milford, Conn./Immaculate H.S.), who finished with a 102.
The low round of the day for Misericordia was fired by Alexis Wyandt, who finished with an 84.
The University of Scranton women's golf team returns to action on Thursday, as they host Marywood at Glenmaura in a dual match. Tee-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
