SILVER SPRING, Md. - Sophomore Madalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) fired a team-low score of 82 to finish third overall on the individual leaderboard, pacing The University of Scranton women's golf team to a third team finish at the 2021 Landmark Conference Fall Preview held at wet Northwest Golf Club on Saturday.
In the event, Scranton finished with a total score of 355 to finish third, trailing the winner of the event and host Catholic (341) and Drew (353) on the team leaderboard.
Buhler led the way for the Royals playing under tough conditions. Her 82 just fell short of a runner-up finish in the event (which was posted by Mary Colella of Catholic, who shot an 81), as Drew's Kayla Diaz won the tournament with a 75.
Elsewhere on the day for Scranton, junior Kate Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) finished in a tie for seventh with an 88, while senior Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) finished in a tie for 11th with a 92. Rounding out the top performers on the day for Scranton was sophomore Victoria Dowling (East Northport, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy), who posted a 93 to finish in a tie for 13th overall.
The University of Scranton women's golf team concludes their fall schedule tomorrow at the Misericordia Invitational in Dallas. Action gets underway at 12 PM.
