DALLAS - A great fall season for The University of Scranton women's golf team came to a close on Sunday, as the Royals finished first at the Misericordia Invitational held at Irem Temple Country Club in Dallas.
Overall, the Royals finished with a final score of 343, completing a busy weekend with an invitational title, as they rolled past second place Misericordia, who posted a final score of 451.
Leading Scranton on the day was a familiar face in sophomoreMadalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) posted her lowest score of the year with a 78 (+6). Not very far behind Buhler on the leaderboard was fellow sophomore Victoria Dowling (East Northport, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy), who fired an 81, which was also the lowest score of her season, as well.
Elsewhere, senior Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) shot a 90 to finish alone in fifth place in the event, while junior Kate Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) rounded out the Royals' lineup with a 94 for a seventh place finish.
The University of Scranton women's golf team will return to action in March. Information on the rest of the Royals' season will be posted on athletics.scranton.edu as it becomes availble.
