MOOSIC, PA (April 18, 2022) -- Sophomore Victoria Dowling (East Northport, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy Academy) led The University of Scranton women's golf team to a 9-hole match victory over Susquehanna on Monday afternoon as play was stopped early due to the imclement weather conditions at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
Dowling shot the low round of the day with an impressive two over 37 on the front nine to lead the Royals to a commanding 166-209 victory over the River Hawks.
Finshing right behind Dowling was fellow sophomore Madalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) who carded a five over 40 on the front. Junior Kate Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y. / Massapequa) shot a 44 (+9) on the front while senior Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y. / Half Hollow Hills East) finished at 10 over with a 45. Rounding out the lineup for Scranton was senior Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa. / North Pocono) who carded a 47 (+12).
The Royals will now get set for the 2022 Landmark Conference Championships this coming weekend at Northwest Golf Club in Silver Spring, MD. Action is set to get underway on Saturday the 23rd at 9:00 AM.
