TUNKHANNOCK, PA (April 2, 2022) -- Sophomore Victoria Dowling (East Northport, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy Academy) posted the low round for The University of Scranton women's golf team as the Royals (368) took down local rivals King's (376) and Wilkes (425) in a tri-match at on Saturday at Stone Hedge Golf Course.
Today's match marked the first of the spring season for the Royals, as they finished the fall with an undefeated record of 8-0.
On the afternoon, Dowling carded an 88 (+17) to lead Scranton and place third overall behind two Monarchs who posted scores of 85 (+14) to take medalist honors.
Junior Kate Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y. / Massapequa) and sophomore Madalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) each finished posted scores of 93 (+22) while senior Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa. / North Pocono) finished a stroke behind at 94 (+23). Senior Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y. / Half Hollow Hills) East rounded out the lineup for the Royals with a 96 (+25).
The University of Scranton women's golf team will return to action on Monday when they head to Lebanon Country Club for the Lebanon Valley Invitational. Action gets underway at 12:00 pm.
