SILVER SPRING, MD (April 23, 2022) -- The University of Scranton women's golf team currently sits in third place behind Drew and Catholic after shooting a 344 (+56) on day one of the 2022 Landmark Conference Championships at Northwest Golf Course in Silver Spring, MD.
Sophomore Victoria Dowling (East Northport, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy Academy) is in a tie for second after the opening day as she carded an impressive nine over round of 81 to lead the Royals. Fellow sophomore Madalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) finished two strokes behind Dowling at 83 (+11) to sit in a tie for fourth.
Junior Kate Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y. / Massapequa) shot an 88 (+16) on the opening day and currently is in a tie for 11th while senior Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y. / Half Hollow Hills East) carded a 92 and sits in 13th. Rounding out the lineup for Scranton was senior Emma Nemitz (Moscow, Pa. / North Pocono) who finished with a 95 and is in a tie for 16th after day one.
Drew University holds a ten stroke lead after the opening day at 333 (+45) while Catholic edged out Scranton by a stroke to sit in second at 343 (+55). Kayla Diaz of Drew shot the low round of the day with a 75 (+3).
The second and final day of action will begin tomorrow morning at 9 AM at Northwest Golf Course.
