Sophomore guard Kaeli Romanowski (Lake Ariel, Pa./Western Wayne)Â of The University of Scranton women's basketball team helped lead the Lady Royals to a pair of dominant victories last week and has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Dec. 10, 2023.
This is the second time this season that Romanowski has been honored as Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week after she previously did so on Nov. 27.
The Lake Ariel, Pa., native averaged 10.0 points, 6.0 steals, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in wins over Drew (87-47) and Goucher (98-31) last week. In the win at Drew, Romanowski tallied nine points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals before adding 11 points and matching her career-high with seven steals in Saturday's win over Goucher.
Romanowski has started all nine games on the year for Scranton and is averaging 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 2.8 assists per contest. Her 4.2 steals are tops in the Landmark conference and rank tied for seventh nationally.
Scranton will hit the road to battle No. 20 DeSales on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 5 p.m.
