Interview Conducted by Athletic Communications Intern, Nevaeh Wall
Royal Reflection shines a light on the senior student-athletes who embody what it means to be a Royal. In this edition, we feature Jenna Sloan of the women's basketball team as she reflects on the moments that defined her time at The University of Scranton.
Favorite Scranton memory?
- Beating Division I University of Pittsburgh this season.
One lesson Scranton athletics taught you?
- It's not about if adversity will hit, but when adversity will hit and how to overcome it.
Pregame or pre-competition ritual you'll miss most?
Teammate who made the biggest impact on you?
- There are too many to pick just one. From my first year all the way through my senior year, I have been blessed to have the most amazing teammates who have all made an impact on me one way or another.
Best advice you've received during your career?
- Assistant coach Tom Kosin said, "Play your music." You don't have to try to be anybody else, just do what you do and how you do it, because that's when you'll be at your best.
What does being a Royal mean to you?
- Being a part of something bigger than myself.
What are you most proud of from your time at Scranton?
- Making it to the National Championship game because so many people never get to say that.
What's next after graduation?
What surprised you most about yourself this past season?
- My knees making it out of the season somewhat intact.
How do you hope to be remembered by your coaches and your teammates?
- As the most unselfish player they have ever played with or coached.
