Romanowski of Women's Basketball Named Finalist for Landmark Conference Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year

University of Scranton women's basketball standout Kaeli Romanowski has been named one of four finalists for the Landmark Conference Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, the conference office announced.

The award recognizes graduating seniors who have excelled in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service throughout their collegiate careers. The overall winner will be selected from the four finalists and submitted for consideration for the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

Romanowski concludes her career as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history while maintaining a 3.97 grade point average as a Finance major.

A key contributor to one of the most successful seasons in Lady Royals history, Romanowski helped guide Scranton to a 32-1 record, an undefeated regular season, a third consecutive Landmark Conference championship, and a national runner-up finish in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship. The appearance in the national title game marked the program's first since 1985.

On the court, Romanowski earned First Team All-Landmark Conference honors in 2024 and 2026 after receiving Second Team recognition in 2025. She was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year in both 2024 and 2026 and earned Landmark Conference Most Valuable Player honors in 2025.

During her senior campaign, Romanowski ranked fifth in Division III with 111 steals and third nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.81). She also garnered D3hoops.com Fifth Team All-America honors, WBCA Honorable Mention All-America recognition, and First Team All-Region accolades.

Romanowski's success extended to the classroom, where she was a three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and earned CSC Second Team Academic All-America honors in 2026.

A team captain during the 2025-26 season, Romanowski also demonstrated leadership beyond the basketball court through her involvement with Future Business Leaders of America. In her role with FBLA, she managed internal communications, assisted with fundraising and service initiatives, and helped grow chapter membership and engagement.

Her accomplishments within the organization included first-place finishes in Parliamentary Procedure at both the 2025 FBLA State Leadership Conference and the 2025 FBLA National Leadership Conference.

The Landmark Conference will announce its Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipients on Wednesday, July 8.
