Buhler Becomes First Landmark Champion in Women's Golf Program History

MOOSIC, PA (April 24, 2023) -- Junior Madalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) earned medalist honors with a two-day score of 153 (+11) to become the first Landmark Conference champion in program history in the final round of the conference championships on Monday at Glenmaura National Golf Club.

Buhler was tied with Drew's Kayla Diaz with two holes remaining and clinched the win with a par on her final hole.

The Stony Point, NY native carded an 82 (+11) on the day. Freshman Cassandra Weir (Staten Island, N.Y. / Notre Dame Academy) shot a career-best 100 (+29) to finish in a tie for 17th overall at 202. Sophomore Taegan Mills (Montrose, Pa. / Elk Lake) finished right behind Weir in 19th place with a 206 after matching her first round score with a 103 (+32). 

Rounding out the lineup for Scranton was freshman Nichole Kym (Kimberton, Pa. / Great Valley) who shot a 136 (+65) to finish in 28th place.

Scranton finished the tournament in fourth place with a team score of 822 (+254). Catholic placed first overall in the team standings at 661 (+93).
