Senior Maddie Hartnett (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) of The University of Scranton women's basketball team averaged 12.0 points per game in two victories last week and has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Feb. 11, 2024.
This marks the second career Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week selection for Hartnett as she previously received the honor on Mar. 8, 2021.
In Saturday's 62-51 victory at Susquehanna, the Chatham, N.J., native scored a season-high 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting (2-of-4 3PT) from the floor and added three rebounds and two steals. Earlier in the week in a 65-47 win versus Moravian, Hartnett had nine points, three boards, a steal and a block.
Scranton has won eight in a row overall and sits in second place in the Landmark Conference standings with two regular season games remaining.
The Lady Royals will hit the road to battle Lycoming on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
