United Soccer Coaches National Rankings

Scranton's rise comes on the heels of an impressive week, posting back-to-back 2-0 victories over regional rivals Misericordia University and Landmark Conference opponent Susquehanna University. The Royals improved to 5-0-3 with the wins, continuing a streak of shutouts and clinical performances on both sides of the ball.

Through the opening stretch of the 2025 season, the Royals have allowed just one goal, the fewest in the nation. They also lead all of Division III in save percentage (.968), and rank second nationally in shutout percentage (.875) with seven clean sheets in eight matches.

Anchoring the Royals' defensive unit is senior goalkeeper Charlie Smith, who has been among the best shot-stoppers in the country this season. Smith ranks:

  • 4th in the nation in save percentage (.962)

  • 4th in goals-against average (0.130)

The Royals return to action tonight at 7:00 PM with a non-conference road match at Alvernia University, aiming to extend their winning streak and defend their national ranking.
