Following a standout performance that included the game-winning goal in a key conference matchup, senior midfielder Preston Rushmore of The University of Scranton men's soccer team has been named the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, as announced Monday by the conference office.
Rushmore scored the opening goal in Scranton's 2–0 victory over Susquehanna University on Saturday, September 27, breaking a scoreless tie with a composed finish in the 50th minute. The goal marked his first of the season and proved to be the game-winner in a Landmark Conference clash.Â
Rushmore and the Royals also picked up a 2-0 non-conference win over Misericordia University on Wednesday night at Weiss Field.Â
The men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 7:00 PM at Alvernia University.Â
