SCRANTON, Pa. – Senior midfielder Linda Daly of The University of Scranton women's soccer team has been named Peggy's Athlete of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in the Royals' 1-0 victory over Catholic to secure the 2025 Landmark Conference Championship on Saturday at Weiss Field.

Daly provided the decisive moment of the match in the 53rd minute, finishing a well-executed set piece to break a scoreless tie. Off a long free kick from Morgan Griffin, Jenna Borelli flicked a header into the box, where Daly redirected it into the right side of the net to give Scranton the lead.

The goal stood as the championship-clinching strike and marked one of the biggest moments of the Royals' postseason run.
