SCRANTON, Pa. – Five members of The University of Scranton women's soccer team were recognized on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region V teams, highlighted by three First Team selections following another championship season for the Royals.
Makenzie Van Arsdale, Aileen Carr, and Jenna Borelli earned First Team All-Region V honors, while Morgan Griffin was named to the Second Team and Addison Van Lenten secured a spot on the Third Team.
All-Region V First Team
Jenna Borelli – Junior Forward
Borelli earns All-Region honors after leading Scranton with eight goals and four assists (20 points) while starting all 21 matches. She generated 56 shots with 33 on goal, scored four game-winners, and paced an attack that finished with 43 goals. She was honored earlier this season as the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Aileen Carr – Sophomore Defender
Carr earns her second straight All-Region selection after anchoring one of the region's toughest defensive units. She started all 20 matches that she appeared in and played 1,765 minutes, contributing two goals and one assist (5 points) on seven shots while serving as a consistent set-piece threat. Defensively, she led a group that allowed just nine goals in 21 matches, including zero goals in Landmark play, and helped the Royals post 16 shutouts. Her dominant play also earned her Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Makenzie Van Arsdale – Junior Goalkeeper
Van Arsdale earns her first career All-Region honor after an elite season in goal. She started all 21 matches and allowed just nine goals for a 0.45 GAA while recording 41 saves and a .820 save percentage. She finished with 14 wins and 11 solo shutouts (16 combined), directing a defensive unit that consistently ranked among the best in the region.
All-Region V Second Team
Morgan Griffin – Senior Midfielder
Griffin earns Second Team honors following a standout season in central midfield. She totaled four goals and five assists (13 points), led the team with 59 shots, and delivered the free
kick that set up the game-winner in the Landmark championship match.
All-Region V Third Team
Addison Van Lenten – Sophomore Defender
Van Lenten earns Third Team recognition after starting all 21 matches and contributing three goals and three assists (9 points) while logging a team-high 1,726 minutes among field players. Her consistency and two-way reliability helped Scranton pace the Landmark in both goals-against average and shutouts.
