SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's soccer team has been recognized by United Soccer Coaches as a 2025 College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipient, earning Silver Award distinction.
The College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Awards honor programs that demonstrate outstanding fair play, sporting behavior, and adherence to the laws of the game throughout the season. Awards are determined by a team's accumulation of yellow and red cards divided by the number of games played.
Scranton, under the direction of head coach Colleen Pivirotto, earned Silver recognition by finishing the season with a card percentage ranging from 11–30 percent, placing the Royals among 23 teams nationally to receive the Silver Award during the 2025 season.
In total, 45 men's and women's programs across all divisions were honored with Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze awards. The Platinum Award is presented to teams with no cards accumulated during the season, while Gold, Silver, and Bronze distinctions are based on progressively higher card-percentage ranges.
The recognition underscores the Scranton women's soccer program's continued commitment to sportsmanship, discipline, and competitive integrity, both on and off the field.
