SCRANTON, Pa. — The University of Scranton women's volleyball program earned a pair of AVCA All-Region 5 selections on Wednesday, as senior outside hitter Deanna Whelpley was named to the All-Region First Team, while junior setter Cammi Quirk earned All-Region Honorable Mention honors.
This marks the second All-Region honor of Whelpley's career and the first for Quirk.
- Whelpley earned Landmark Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors after producing one of the most dominant offensive seasons in the Landmark Conference.
- She led the league with 473 kills — a total that ranks ninth in the nation — including 111 kills in conference play, while averaging 4.04 kills per set and hitting a career-best .270.
- She became the 10th player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills, hitting the milestone during the Landmark Championship match against Juniata and finishing the season with 1,002.
- Whelpley is the first Royal ever to win Landmark Player of the Year and now becomes a two-time AVCA All-Region selection.
Cammi Quirk – All-Region Honorable Mention
- Quirk earned First Team All-Landmark honors after leading the conference with 1,187 assists and a Landmark-best 10.06 assists per set.
- Her 1,187 total assists rank fourth in the nation, showcasing her impact as one of Division III's top setters.
- She directed one of the Landmark's most efficient and balanced offenses through elite tempo control, distribution, and decision-making.
- Earlier this season, Quirk surpassed the 2,000 career assist milestone and now ranks seventh in program history with 2,329 assists.
- This marks her first career AVCA All-Region selection, following a decorated career start that includes Landmark Rookie of the Year and back-to-back All-Conference honors.
