The University of Scranton women's volleyball team was recognized for its success in the classroom by earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

The honor marks the 15th consecutive year the Royals have received the award, which is presented to programs that achieve a cumulative team GPA of 3.3 or higher during the academic year. A total of 1,432 collegiate and high school programs earned the AVCA Team Academic Award this year.
