SCRANTON, Pa. – Sophomore guard Will Marion of The University of Scranton men's basketball team has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week following his pivotal performance in the Royals' 83–80 victory over Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday at the John Long Center.
Marion delivered in the biggest moments as Scranton closed the game on a decisive late run. With the Royals trailing late in the second half, he knocked down a clutch three-pointer to tie the game at 78–78 with just over two minutes remaining, shifting momentum back to Scranton.
Moments later, Marion struck again, attacking the lane for a key basket in the final minute that put the Royals ahead for good. His poise and confidence down the stretch helped fuel Scranton's 15–4 run over the final 4:27 of the contest.
Marion finished the game with 15 points and five rebounds, providing efficient scoring, strong rebounding from the perimeter, and steady play on both ends of the floor.
With his late-game execution and all-around impact, Marion played a crucial role in the Royals improving to 7–1 on the season, earning Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week honors.
