SCRANTON, Pa. – University of Scranton freshman Jake Brunetti was named the Landmark Conference Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week following a pair of standout performances that helped lead the Royals to multiple team victories.
Brunetti played a key role in Scranton's sweep of Wilkes University and Lebanon Valley College at the Wilkes tri-meet, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.92. He also contributed to several relay victories as the Royals earned convincing wins over Wilkes (186–40) and Lebanon Valley (193–26).
The freshman followed that effort with another dominant showing in a road dual meet at Elizabethtown, winning both the 100 backstroke (55.48) and the 100 freestyle (48.87). His performances helped power Scranton to a 192–69 victory over the Blue Jays.
Across both meets, Brunetti consistently delivered top-point finishes in sprint and backstroke events while contributing to relay success, making him a key factor in Scranton's strong week of competition.
