Junior midfielder Eileen Hewitt of The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team earned Preseason All-American Honorable Mention recognition, as announced by USA Lacrosse Magazine on Tuesday afternoon.
Hewitt put together a standout sophomore campaign in 2025, setting career highs with 35 goals, 40 assists, 75 points, and 29 caused turnovers, while adding 56 draw controls. She ranked among the Landmark Conference's top performers in four major statistical categories, placing fifth in points, fourth in assists, second in ground balls, and tied for sixth in caused turnovers. Hewitt earned All-Region First Team honors along with All-Landmark Conference First Team recognition.
Hewitt led the Royals in both points and assists, pacing a Scranton offense that averaged more than 14 goals per game in 2025. Her efforts helped guide the Royals to their third consecutive Landmark Conference Championship and a thrilling 12-10 victory over MIT in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Hewitt and the women's lacrosse team open the 2026 season on Feb. 14, traveling to Grantham, Pa., to face No. 24 Messiah University, with action set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
