2025 Recap:

Scranton delivered a strong 2025 campaign, finishing with a 15-6 overall record and a perfect 9-0 mark in Landmark Conference play. The Royals' balance on both ends of the field and steady performance throughout the season solidified them as the league's top team. The Royals dominated Landmark opponents, defeating every conference foe by 10 or more goals in each contest. That dominance carried into the postseason, as Scranton earned two decisive home victories to capture the Landmark Conference title. The Royals opened the playoffs with a 16-6 win over Susquehanna University in the conference semifinals before winning the championship with a 16-6 victory against Catholic University at Weiss Field.

Scranton advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season and continued its success with a thrilling 12-10 win over MIT in the first round. The Royals' season came to a close in the second round with a loss to eventual national runner-up Tufts University, concluding a championship season that featured the program's third straight conference title and an NCAA Tournament win for the second consecutive year.

Key Returners:

Scranton brings back key members of the championship roster, highlighted by multiple All-Region selections:

  • Mia Dinnocenzio (M/D) - 18 starts, 41 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers in 2025

Key Departures:

With the graduation of the two-time All-American attacker Grace Lane and three-time All-Conference selection Erin Reich, along with Devyn TanajewskiShannon DiDominicaMolly McCarrenCatherine McGlynn, the Royals must account for 158 goals from 2025, representing 53% of the team's total offense from a season ago. Defensively, Scranton will also seek to fill significant gaps following the graduation of two All-Conference defenders in Karina Roettger and Brooke Lynch, in addition to Alex Dato, who made 39 starts over the last two seasons.

Outlook:

Despite key departures and a young roster, Scranton enters 2026 well positioned for continued success. The Royals return an experienced core that fueled an undefeated conference season a year ago, supported by a strong foundation at every level of the field. With depth throughout the roster and a talented incoming class, Scranton opens the season as the Landmark Conference favorite and a contender for another NCAA Tournament run.
