SCRANTON, Pa. -- The Landmark Conference has recognized senior Kaci Kranson as its Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive week, following two dominant performances that propelled The University of Scranton Lady Royals to a 2–0 week.
This marks Kranson's sixth honor this season and the 13th in her career. She currently ranks second in the Landmark Conference in scoring at 17.3 points per game and continues to sit among the conference's top ten in field goal percentage.
Kranson opened the week with a commanding performance in a 104–29 victory over Lycoming College on Wednesday. She scored 19 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and added 3 assists while shooting 7-of-10 from the field. The win marked Scranton's largest margin of victory since 1989 and the fourth-largest in program history, with Kranson's leadership helping the Royals dominate in every facet of the game, including 47–20 rebounds and 28 team steals.
She followed that performance with a career-high 39 points, along with 7 rebounds, in a 94–53 home victory over Susquehanna University on Saturday. Kranson showcased her versatility, scoring on fast breaks, step-back floaters, and knocking down two late three-pointers to push the lead past 30 points. Her offensive surge, combined with teammates Elizabeth Bennett and Kaeli Romanowski's contributions, helped Scranton maintain wire-to-wire dominance.
Across both games, Kranson averaged 29 points, 5.5 rebounds, and shot 64 percent from the field, highlighting her scoring efficiency, versatility, and impact on both ends of the court. Her three-week streak of standout performances underscores her status as one of the premier players in the Landmark Conference.
Scranton returns to Landmark Conference play on Wednesday, Feb. 18, hosting Wilkes University at 8:00 p.m. at the John Long Center.
