University of Scranton sophomore Joey Granko has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week after a standout stretch at the plate in a 3-1 week for the Royals.

The Old Forge, Pa. native hit 8-for-17 across four contests against Elizabethtown and Wilkes, recording five runs scored, six RBIs, and two home runs to lead Scranton's offense.

He opened the week with a dominant performance against Wilkes on March 25, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a home run, and four RBIs. Granko followed with a strong three-game series against Elizabethtown, tallying five hits, including another home run and two RBIs.

Across the four games, Granko posted multiple hits in three contests and consistently provided production in the middle of the lineup, helping power Scranton to a 3-1 record on the week in Landmark Conference action. 

His impressive performance earns him Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season.
