The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team cruised past Wilkes University, 23-2, on Wednesday afternoon at Weiss Field in Scranton.

How it Happened
- Scranton erupted for four goals in the opening 3:27 to take control early. Eileen Hewitt opened the scoring just 26 seconds in, followed by tallies from Alexandra Back and Grace DiDominica 1:03 apart. Jillian Lopez capped the run with her first of the day at the 11:36 mark to make it 4-0.Â
- DiDominica struck again in transition off a feed from Lopez at 5:56, and Lopez finished a pass from Allyson Flynn 50 seconds later to stretch the lead to 6-0.
- The Royals closed out a nine-goal first quarter with three more scores over the final 3:35. Colleen Mullin converted a free-position attempt before Flynn and Jessica McCabe added goals to make it 9-0.Â
- Flynn connected with Jane Burrows 2:25 into the second quarter, then scored her second of the game a minute later to extend the advantage to 11-0. Hewitt added a free-position goal at 9:39, and Back followed with a goal and later assisted on Mullin's tally to push the lead to 14-0 with 4:59 left in the half.Â
- Morgan Hettesheimer put Wilkes on the board with 2:11 remaining in the half, but Hewitt answered with her third goal of the game 45 seconds before the break.Â
- Scranton netted the only goals of the third quarter, as five different players found the back of the cage. Natalie Paul and Delaney Wozniak scored less than two minutes apart, while Riley Miller, Sadie Gilbert, and Amelia Price each added a goal to send the Royals into the fourth ahead 20-1.Â
- Wozniak opened the fourth by finishing a feed from Ellianna Lagreca to push the margin to 20. Grace Hoeger and Lourdes Zacarese followed with goals of their own to make it 23-1.Â
- Wilkes' Alexis Guttilla scored as time expired, as the Royals cruised to a 23-2 victory in their regular season home finale.Â
