Men's Golf Places Fourth at Bloomsburg Spring Invitational

The University of Scranton men's golf team placed fourth overall on Thursday at the Bloomsburg Husky Spring Invitational, held at Frosty Valley Country Club.

The Royals posted a team score of 327 (+39) in a six-team field. Bloomsburg University Maroon claimed the team title with a 305 (+17), followed by Millersville University in second (308, +20) and Goldey-Beacom College in third (317, +29). Scranton finished ahead of Chestnut Hill College (331, +43), while Bloomsburg Gold placed sixth (339, +51).

Leading the way for the Royals was Jack Novis, who carded a 77 (+5) with rounds of 39 and 38. Richard Essen followed closely with a 78 (+6), posting rounds of 42 and an even-par 36 on the back nine.

Cade Kelleher added an 85 (+13) (41-44), while Gehrig Shannon posted an 87 (+15) (45-42). Juliano Nieto also competed for the Royals and finished with an 89 (+17) (47-42). 

Up Next: The men's golf team will return to action on Monday, April 13th at the Stevens Institute Invitational hosted at Basking Ridge Country Club.
