The University of Scranton men's golf team placed fourth overall on Thursday at the Bloomsburg Husky Spring Invitational, held at Frosty Valley Country Club.
The Royals posted a team score of 327 (+39) in a six-team field. Bloomsburg University Maroon claimed the team title with a 305 (+17), followed by Millersville University in second (308, +20) and Goldey-Beacom College in third (317, +29). Scranton finished ahead of Chestnut Hill College (331, +43), while Bloomsburg Gold placed sixth (339, +51).
Leading the way for the Royals was Jack Novis, who carded a 77 (+5) with rounds of 39 and 38. Richard Essen followed closely with a 78 (+6), posting rounds of 42 and an even-par 36 on the back nine.
Cade Kelleher added an 85 (+13) (41-44), while Gehrig Shannon posted an 87 (+15) (45-42). Juliano Nieto also competed for the Royals and finished with an 89 (+17) (47-42).Â
