Franklin & Marshall, now 5-6 overall, also received two goals apiece from senior midfielder Chad Gamble (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and junior midfielderJack Gladstone (Chappaqua, NY/Horace Greeley) and a goal and four assists from freshman attackman Sean Rogers (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County).

Gamble scored two straight goals to ignite a 9-0 run that included four goals by Bossidy within a six-minute span before Lombardo finally broke through for Scranton with a goal off of a play set up by junior midfielder Alec Mikrut (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) with 7:23 remaining in the second period.  Mikrut finished with two assists.

The Diplomats then added one more goal before intermission and another to open the third period to extend their lead to 11-1 before Haimson scored four straight to cut the lead to 11-5 midway through the fourth period.  Scranton out-scored F&M 3-2 the rest of the way to set the final score.

For the game, the Diplomats held a 37-29 advantage in shots and a 30-27 edge in ground balls, but the Royals did manage to win 15 of 23 face-offs, including 9 of 14 by senior Matt Finor (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) and 6 of 9 by freshman Adam Drury (Chatham, NJ/Chatham).  Royal junior Nicholas McKaba (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris) finished with seven saves in goal and senior defenseman Ryan Millard (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) caused a turnover and scooped up a game-high six ground balls for the Royals.
