Men's Golf Finishes Third at Biondi Memorial Invitational

MOOSIC - The University of Scranton men's golf team finished third at the 2021 Biondi Memorial Invitational, which was hosted by Marywood at Glenmaura National Golf Club the last two days.

On a day when the Royals had to first finish their opening round, then go right back out and start the second round, Scranton ended with a total team score of 627 to finish third overall in a strong field. Franklin & Marshall took the team title, followed by Swarthmore, who edged the Royals with a two-round score of 625.

Leading Scranton in the event was junior Ethan Zawatski (Dallas, Pa./Dallas), who finished in a tie for fourth with a two-round total of 152 (77-75). Not very far down the leaderboard away from Zawatski was senior Nicholas Campanelli (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional), who finished in a tie for eighth with a 156 (77-79).

Rounding out the Royals' line-up was freshman Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal), who placed in a tie for 15th with a total score of 167 (86-81), and fellow freshman Stephen Butler (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area), who finished 18th with a 172, bouncing back with a 79 in the second round (after carding a 93 in round one).

The University of Scranton men's golf team returns to action on Saturday, as the head to Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville, Md. for the 2021 Landmark Conference Fall Preview.
