Richard Essen of The University of Scranton men's golf team has been named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week following a pair of impressive performances.

Essen delivered an exceptional showing at the DeSales Invitational, leading Scranton to the team title while also capturing individual medalist honors. He opened the tournament with a round of 75 (+3), positioning himself among the leaders heading into the final round. Essen then surged on day two, carding a two-under par 70 that was highlighted by a remarkable hole-out eagle on the 14th hole. He finished with a two-day total of 145 (+1), securing the individual title by two strokes.

He followed up that performance with another solid outing at the Lebanon Valley Invitational, where he posted a 78 (+6) to earn an eighth-place finish.
