Scranton Men's Golf Releases 2026 Spring Schedule

SCRANTON, Pa. -- The University of Scranton men's golf team is set for a competitive spring campaign as the Royals look to build on a strong fall season and make a push toward the postseason.

Scranton carries momentum into the spring after going a perfect 5–0 in dual matches during the fall and finishing third out of 10 teams at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview. The strong showing positioned the Royals as a legitimate contender heading into championship play.

The spring slate begins March 27–28 at the DeSales Invitational, hosted by DeSales University at Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli, Pa. Scranton follows with the Lebanon Valley Invitational on March 30 at Lebanon Country Club, hosted by Lebanon Valley College.

The Royals return to action April 6 in a dual match against Wilkes University at Glen Oak Country Club in Clarks Summit, Pa., before traveling to the Bloomsburg Invitational on April 9, hosted by Bloomsburg University at Frost Valley Country Club.

Scranton then competes at the Stevens Institute Invitational on April 13 at Basking Ridge Country Club in New Jersey, hosted by Stevens Institute of Technology. A stretch of regional duals follows, beginning April 17 at King's College at Wyoming Valley Country Club. The Royals face Wilkes University again on April 19 at Huntsville Golf Club in Dallas, Pa., before hosting King's College on April 20 at Glen Oak Country Club.

Scranton closes the regular season April 22 at the Conquer The Island Invitational at Shawnee Golf Course in Shawnee on the Delaware, Pa., before turning its focus to the Landmark Conference Championship on April 25–26.

The Royals are guided by veteran head coach Ed Karpovich, who is in his 44th season at the helm. Karpovich's steady leadership and decades of experience continue to shape one of the program's most consistent eras. He is joined by assistant coaches Carl Danzig, Peter Blasi, and Luke Merlan, who provide additional depth and instruction to a balanced roster.

Scranton's lineup features a blend of veteran leadership and emerging talent. Seniors Jack Novis, Gehrig Shannon, and Juliano Nieto anchor the squad after key performances in the fall. A strong sophomore class — Richard Essen, Jake Lairdieson, Jack Leonard, and Marshall Kain — adds depth and scoring consistency, while freshman Cade Kelleher has already made an early impact.

With experienced leadership on the course and on the coaching staff, the Royals enter the spring season ready to contend for another Landmark Conference Championship.
