DANVILLE, Pa. – Senior John Shaughnessy (Florida, N.Y./S.S.Seward Institute) carded a team-best 75 (+3) and The University of Scranton men's golf team topped Bloomsburg 314-338 in a dual match on Saturday at Frosty Valley Country Club in Danville.
The Royals improve to 6-0 in dual matches on the season and have now won 50 straight dual matches in the last four plus seasons dating back to the 2017-18 season. Scranton has not dropped a dual match since falling to Marywood on Sept. 14, 2017.
Shaughnessy led the way for the Scranton "White" team as the Royals were broken up into two teams on the afternoon.
Freshman Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) shot a 76 (+4) in the best round of his young career at The University, while fellow freshman Stephen Butler (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) and junior Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) both registered a 78 (+6) on the day.
Graduate student Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) fired a 79 (+7) and senior Nicholas Campanelli (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) carded an 81 (+9) on the afternoon for the Royals.
Pat Uebelacker led the way for Bloomsburg on the day with a 77 (+5).
Scranton looks to extend their dual match winning streak on Wednesday as they take on Clarks Summit at Stonehedge Country Club. Tee time is slated for 1 p.m.
