Scranton put forth a dominant defensive effort throughout the game and held Juniata without a point for the first six plus minutes of the quarter. Head coach Nick DiPillo's squad began the third quarter on an 18-0 run capped by a three-point play by sophomore Maddy Ryan (Malvern, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) that extended the lead to 49-12 with 3:53 left in the quarter. The Eagles were unable to get any closer than 27 the rest of the way and a three-pointer from sophomore Leah Nolan (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) in the final two minutes of the game accounted for the final margin of victory at 59-29.
Anderson led all scorers with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while sophomore Maddie Hartnett (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) added 13 points off the bench for the Lady Royals. Junior Bridget Monaghan (Florham Park, N.J./Morristown-Beard) added eight points and three assists in the victory.
