MOOSIC, PA (April 11, 2022) -- The University of Scranton men's golf team finished runner-up to Moravian University at the 2022 Glenmaura Invitational on Monday afternoon as the Royals finished with a team score of 484, five strokes behind the Grey Hounds at 479.
Graduate student Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J. / Pascack Valley) carded the low round of the day in the field of 30 golfers with a four over 75 to pace the Royals. He went out in 37 and came in with a 38, including a birdie on the par four 12th. Ralph finished the invitational in a tie for 4th at 119.
Senior Nicholas Campanelli (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) and junior Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa. / Council Rock South) each posted rounds of 79 (+8) for Scranton. Campanelli finished sixth overall at 120, while Fleming finished in a tie for 13th at 125.
Freshman Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y. / Seton Catholic Central) carded an 81 (+10) on Monday afternoon to finish the invitational in a tie for 7th at 121. Rounding out the lineup for the Royals was freshman Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y. / Vestal) who shot an 86 (+15) and finished with a 131 to place 21st.
Moravian won the team title, while Ethan Zawatski of Misericordia earned medalist honors at 111.
The University of Scranton men's golf team returns to action on Friday and Saturday for the Landmark Conference Championships at Woodholme Country Club in Silver Spring, MD. Action gets underway at 10:00 AM.
