TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. – Junior Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) and freshman Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) both carded a 74 (+3) to share medalist honors and lead The University of Scranton men's golf team past Marywood and Wilkes on Monday afternoon at Stone Hedge Golf Course.
The Royals captured the tri-match with a team score of 310 (+26), while Marywood checked in at 316 (+32) and Wilkes finished at 368 (+84).
Scranton has now won 61 straight dual matches dating back to the 2017-18 campaign.
Fleming's round of 74 marked his lowest of the season, while it is Harding's second lowest of the season. The duo held off Marywood's Paul Appolt who finished third with a 75 (+4).
Elsewhere for the Royals, freshman Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) finished tied for fourth with a 78 (+7) to go along with a 79 (+8) from both senior Nicholas Campanelli (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) and graduate student Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley). Senior John Shaughnessy (Florida, N.Y./S.S. Seward Institute) rounded out the scoring with an 83 (+12) on the day.
The University of Scranton men's golf team will return to the course on Thursday, April 28 for a home tri-match versus Bloomsburg and Clarks Summit at Glenmaura National Golf Club. Tee time is slated for 1 p.m.
