WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's golf team registered a seventh place finish as the Royals wrapped up action on Day Two of the D3 Elite Invitational on Sunday at Williamsport Country Club.
Scranton placed seventh with a two-day team score of 630 (+62) as Franklin & Marshall captured the team title at 603 (+35).
Sophomore Gehrig Shannon (Bernardsville, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) finished in a tie for 11th overall after he carded an 81 (+10) on Sunday and posted a two-day score of 155 (+13), while junior Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) finished tied for 15th with an 81 (+10) in round two and a two-day score of 157 (+15).
Fellow sophomore Jack Novis (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) also added an 81 on Sunday and recorded a two-day score of 158 (+16). Rounding things out for the Royals was sophomore Juliano Nieto (Archbald, Pa./Holy Cross) with a two-day score of 160 (+18) and sophomore Luke Merlan (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) with a 177 (+35).
The Royals are back in action on Monday, Oct. 9 for a dual match at Wilkes that will get underway at Huntsville Golf Club at 1 p.m.
