DALLAS, Pa. – Junior Samantha Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) recorded a fifth-place finish to lead the way for The University of Scranton women's cross country team on Friday night at the Misericordia Invitational in Dallas.
The Royals finished fourth in the team standings with 75 points as the host Cougars captured the team title with 27 points.
· Hoffmann finished fifth with a personal-best 4K time of 15:51.4 and senior Olivia Tullman (Chester Springs, Pa./The Hill School) placed 14th with a personal-best time of her own in 16:30.4.
· Fellow senior Catriona Corbett (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) recorded a 20th place finish in 16:51.5, while freshman Kyrianna Nemitz (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) took 21st in 16:57.2 and senior Paige Hennigan (Stony Point, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) finished 22nd in a personal-best time of 16:59.4 to round out the team's top five.
Scranton returns to the course on Sept. 23 for the Lock Haven Invitational that will get underway at 10 a.m.
