SHAWNEE ON THE DELAWARE, PA -- The University of Scranton men's golf team shot a 301 (+13) to finish tied for third out of 15 teams at the Conquer The Island Invitational hosted at Shawnee Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
Moravian won the team title with a total score of 293 (+5). Elliot Parker of Drew earned medalist honors with a four-under par round of 68.
Junior
Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y. / Seton Catholic Central) shot the low round of the day for Scranton with a 73 (+1) and finished in a tie for seventh individually. Sophomore
Jack Novis (Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) finished in a tie for tenth with a three-over par round of 75.
Sophomore
Juliano Nieto (Archbald, Pa. / Holy Cross) carded a 76 (+4) and tied for 14th while junior
Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y. / Vestal) shot a 77 (+5) to tie for 19th. Sophomore
Gehrig Shannon (Bernardsville, N.J. / Saint Peter's Prep) rounded out the lineup for Scranton with an 84 (+12).
The men's golf team returns to action on Sunday for a match against Wilkes at Huntsville Golf Club at 1:00 PM.
