KUTZTOWN, PA -- The University of Scranton men's golf team finished in third place out of 14 teams in the Battle at Berkleigh hosted at Berkleigh Golf Club on Thursday afternoon.
The Royals carded a 301 (+13) on the day. Drew University won the tournament with a team score of 290 (+2), while Albright College took second at 296 (+8). Jake Rotelle of Lancaster Bible won medalist honors with a 67 (-5).
Scores
- Junior Jack Novis shot the low round of the day for Scranton with a 74 (+2) and finished in a tie for seventh individually.
- Finishing one stroke behind Novis was fellow junior Gehrig Shannon who carded a 75 (+3) and finished tied for 11th.
- Senior Liam Burtis and freshman Richard Essen each posted rounds of 76 (+4) and finished in a tied for 17th.
- Senior Danny Harding rounded out the lineup for the Royals with a 78 (+6) and finished in a tie for 24th.
The men's golf team returns to action on Saturday at the D3 Elite Invitational hosted at Williamsport Country Club at 9:00 AM.
