CLARK, N.J. – Sophomore Brayden Clarke led The University of Scranton men's cross country team with a sixth-place finish as the Royals placed fifth overall at the 2025 Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday morning at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, N.J.
Clarke turned in a personal-best time of 24:51.39 to earn All-Landmark Conference honors, pacing a Scranton lineup that featured several strong performances and season-best times.
First-year Luke O'Brien crossed in 26:22.14 to take 24th place, followed by classmates Dylan Walsh (26:44.26, 31st) and Owen James (26:47.12, 33rd), both of whom posted personal bests. Junior Michael Allardyce rounded out the Royals' scoring five in 37th place with a time of 27:02.09.
Juniors Jackson Morris (47th, 27:23.73) and Joseph Kilpatrick (60th, 28:08.32) added depth for the Royals, while freshmen Cullen Clarke (28:49.82) and Robert Casey (28:57.28) each set personal records.
Scranton finished with 122 points to place fifth in the 10-team field, trailing Moravian (30), Catholic (79), Elizabethtown (90), and Susquehanna (93).
Susquehanna's Derick Blair claimed the individual title with a time of 24:28.85, while Moravian captured the team championship behind three top-four finishers.
The Royals will return to action at the NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 15, in Newville, Pa.
