Balanced Offense Leads Scranton Men's Basketball Past Centenary, 86–61

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The University of Scranton men's basketball team put together another strong all-around performance on Friday night, rolling past Centenary University, 86–61, to improve to 3–0 on the season.

How It Happened

  • Scranton opened the night with steady interior scoring, including early baskets from Sammy Tornabene, Ben Robinson, and Brendan Carr to build a small lead.

  • A strong mid-half stretch featured scoring from Carr, Tornabene, and Jon Spatola as the Royals pushed ahead 24-10.

  • Centenary responded to trim the margin, but Will Marion's jumper in the final seconds sent Scranton into the break with a 34-28 advantage.

  • Coming out of halftime, the Royals took over immediately with a layup and tip-in from Tornabene, a three from Spatola, and another strong finish inside to push the lead into double digits.

  • Nick Ruisi added a layup, Tornabene scored again through contact, and Robinson converted in transition as Scranton continued to control the pace.

  • The Royals kept pouring it on with scoring contributions from all across the rotation: Carr from deep, Spatola on drives, Luca Baratta in the mid-range, Ruisi at the rim, and Josias Carbon with a three and transition finish.

  • Scranton closed the night on a 13-5 run, capped off by a three from Robinson and a late jumper by Hamilton Roth.
