The University of Scranton men's basketball team will take the court at one of the most iconic venues in college basketball when the Royals face Susquehanna University as part of the fifth annual Landmark Conference Gameday at the Palestra on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2027.

Scranton and Susquehanna are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. inside the University of Pennsylvania's historic arena, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary during the 2026-27 academic year.

The Royals and River Hawks will be part of a full day of Landmark Conference basketball at the Palestra, with four conference matchups featuring eight league programs.

The 2027 Landmark Conference Gameday schedule is as follows:

Women's Basketball
12:00 p.m. — Catholic University vs. Drew University
5:00 p.m. — Juniata College vs. Goucher College

Men's Basketball
2:30 p.m. — Wilkes University vs. Elizabethtown College
7:30 p.m. — University of Scranton vs. Susquehanna University

The Landmark Conference first brought its basketball programs to the Palestra in 2023 after the league's Directors of Athletics unanimously approved the initiative. Since then, the event has become an annual tradition, providing Landmark student-athletes with the opportunity to compete in one of the nation's most historic college basketball venues.

Known as the "Cathedral of College Basketball," the Palestra opened its doors on Jan. 1, 1927, and will celebrate 100 years during the 2026-27 academic year. Throughout its history, the venue has hosted countless memorable games, legendary players and championship events and remains one of the most recognizable arenas in college basketball.

For Scranton, the matchup with Susquehanna will mark another opportunity for the Royals to compete on the historic Palestra floor as part of one of the Landmark Conference's signature annual events.
