SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's soccer team captured the 2025 Landmark Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon, defeating Catholic University, 1-0, at Weiss Field.

How It Happened
- After a scoreless first half, Scranton broke through in the 53rd minute on a well-executed set piece. Morgan Griffin delivered a long free kick into the box, where Jenna Borelli flicked it on with her head to Linda Daly, who redirected it with her foot into the right side of the net for the decisive goal.
- The Royals' defense did the rest, with junior goalkeeper Makenzie Van Arsdale making three saves, including a big stop in the final minute, to secure the shutout. Van Arsdale's composure and leadership in goal earned her Landmark Championship MVP honors.
- Scranton controlled play for much of the match, outshooting Catholic 19-9 and holding a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
